3 Ways to Get More Traffic to Your Online Store

An Introduction to Marketing Your Store Online
No matter how wonderful your products are, finding ways to encourage consumers to buy from your online store can be a challenge.
With so much competition out there - especially if you're competing against a big retailer - means you need to always be focusing on ways to get more traffic to your online store.
Here are 3 ways to grow your online store:

1. Create Compelling Content
Publishing content that is valuable to your consumers is an ideal way to attract people to your website. Potential customers are more willing to buy from a retailer who posts genuine blogs, reviews, and articles.
A study done by Gartner, a leading research and advisory company, found that 84% of millennials have used user-generated content to make a purchasing decision.
Plus, if you provide your readers with fresh content, they're more likely to return to your website and potentially buy from you more than once.
2. Focus on SEO
When creating organic content your readers will enjoy, it's essential to keep SEO in mind if you want to grow your online store. Organic traffic means visitors finding your website in a way that didn't require you paying for that traffic to find you.
For example, if you have written a book on relationship advice you want to promote, you could create articles containing keywords such as "relationship tips" and "love advice."
You also need to expand your SEO campaign to:
• Include keyword descriptions on product images
• Create a sitemap and submit it to search engines
• Write page titles and meta descriptions
You'll have to do your keyword research first, however, and work on targeting keywords with low competition that still get enough traffic to make your efforts worthwhile. This is where an SEO expert can really come in handy.
3. Use Google AdWords
Google AdWords is a pay-per-click advertising program that can really help you generate traffic and leads.
The cost per click varies, but even an entrepreneur on a limited budget can afford to pay for at least a small campaign.
For an Impressions Campaign, you only have pay for an ad when someone clicks on the ad, calls your business or views your video, so it's a cost-effective way to get more traffic.
There are a few ways to use Google AdWords:
• Show up in Google search results
• Promote banner ads in Gmail or websites
• Create a video ad for YouTube targeting your audience based on specific criteria
You'll have to be skilled enough to manage your campaigns, measure results and make changes, or else it won't help you grow your online store and could end up being very costly. If you're not sure, seek out a professional who can help you grow your online store through paid traffic.
Like most marketing strategies, getting traffic to your online store takes continuous effort. Your competitors are likely focusing on the same techniques you are, so stay ahead of the game by measuring your results and changing what doesn't work.

5 Easy Marketing Tips For Your ECommerce Store

If you have an eCommerce store, whether you sell physical products or digital products, here are 5 easy ways to market your products.
1. Build an Email List
To build your list, you can offer coupon discounts if they sign up, sign up everyone who buys from you, and maybe give away a free digital product to your subscribers that relate to them and solves a problem for them. It's easy to create a free PDF checklist or something that relates to the types of products you sell.

2. Start a Niche-Specific Group of Users
Another great tip for marketing your eCommerce store online is to start groups and forums using social media (like Facebook groups, for example) to create user-specific groups. So if you sell cat toys, you may want to start a cat lovers group where you can interact with cat lovers and then also give them first dibs on any sales or new products.
3. Run Facebook Advertisements
Instead of running a Facebook ad for your entire site, run advertisements for selected products or services individually. If you grab a Facebook pixel, you can install it onto your site by following the directions given by Facebook, or by hiring someone who knows how to do it such as your web designer or a virtual assistant. The pixel will then target only people who have already visited your site with the advertisement that you run.
4. Post Informative Content Often
Even an eCommerce site can have a blog that enables you to post informative content that engages, educates, and informs your audience about your products, as well as how to use them. You can publish case studies, user-generated content showing users of your product using it in action, examples of how to use your product, tips on using your product, and so much more.
The more useful, valuable, and informative the content is, the better. If it's interesting and engaging, that's even better because people will share it. It also gives you something to promote on social media.
5. Mind Your SEO
Product descriptions, product titles, and how you name the images of your products are all very important for the health of your search engine optimization. Don't ignore any of that, thinking it doesn't matter just because your customers can't see it. The search engines see it and they use it to deliver your content to your audience, so don't skimp on these important aspects of SEO.

4 Amazing Tips on Content Marketing for Small Businesses

Historically, small businesses have been slower in adapting to content marketing methods and/or strategies that are utilized by corporate marketers. However, as (SEO) Search Engine Optimization practices have evolved considerably in the last couple of years - it's become more than obvious that small businesses need to add eBooks, comparison guides and how-tos, as well as other content strategies to remain in competitive rankings.
It doesn't matter if the content is outsourced to an agency that offers content management services or done in house - ideas for creative, informative and engaging content more than often becomes scarce.
Regardless of that fact, we have 4 amazing tips on Content Marketing for small businesses. Check them out below:
1. Develop a Calendar for Content Marketing. Developing a calendar for content marketing will allow you to document content strategies and methods. Also, it's an awesome way to ensure that content creation is done in a timely fashion and remains on schedule. This amazing method for content creation is often neglected and overlooked by many small businesses.
Approximately, 61 percent of content marketers have said that their greatest issue when creating content is that it's too time-consuming. Only 44% of marketers have reported keeping a calendar with documented content marketing methods and strategies.
Developing and putting together a calendar that's designated for content scheduling for the month is the 1st step in setting aside time to brainstorm, strategize, create and finally publish content.
2. You Need to Find Out What Works For You! Before you go on a scavenger hunt for inspiration on other websites you need to have a good understanding of the features and components of past content that has been beneficial to you and your small business.
We advise you to utilize Webmaster Tools and Google Analytics to check on the leading, trafficked web pages, and queries so that you're able to identify what content has worked the best and which keywords have been used to find your content. Furthermore, it is recommended to use Social Statistics, as they can also, give you insight on content that has done really well.
You can check out Social Media performances by using services, such as - Add This, which embed buttons to share on blogs and also, have tracking info. These are user-friendly dashboards, which offer information on an array of click backs and shares.
3. Comprehending Social Media Trends for Topics. Social Media networks and/or platforms are extremely helpful in getting new idea topics. Creating content revolving around trending topics will give you invaluable content ideas, which people are actively searching for in real-time.
For instance, Twitter has now had trending topics accessible for quite some time. Earlier this year - Facebook introduced trending topics as well... If you need or want to view trending topics on a more local scale, then you can utilize Trendsmap, which offers users a close and intimate look on trending topics and news that's overlaid on a map with information from Twitter's social media platform.
Amplify content by covering different aspects of a story. Take a stance that's controversial in nature or supplement it by using an array of media options, such as - infographics or videos.
4. Use Content That's Visual. Although, the majority of SEO practices tend to focus on the text that will be digested by different search engines - now, visual content has become a lot more appealing and interesting for your fellow, human readers. People seem to be naturally wired to be more attracted and more likely to engage with visual content. Ninety percent of the info that enters the human brain is acquired visually.
With that being said, content that uses images receives an estimated 94% more views than content without any visuals.
A recent survey of marketers from Marketing Sherpa observed that visuals were the simplest form of content to create. Develop infographics utilizing research that's been done already for content or you can outsource image and/or visual creation to add on to your blog posts. You can easily keep your users and visitors engaged and scrolling through your website pages by simply adding interesting and eye-catching GIFs and still images to your written content.
If you're running a small operation or business it is still essential that you remain in the loop. As always, content is vital to the success of your SEO campaign. Start incorporating these tips to your current and future content and you'll notice that you'll experience fewer difficulties coming up with new topic ideas and/or interesting content for your users and visitors.

The Secret to Writing Original Quality Content
There is no reason to constantly regurgitate material. I'm sure people get tired of reading the same information written a thousand different ways. The answer to this fresh, superior content is research. There are thousands of places to get information at your fingertips.
Here is a list of some research resources:
Google search. This is a good place to start your research.
Journals. You will find high quality with this kind of research, although you may have to pay for some of them. Here is a list of free open access journals:
Databases. Look for open access journals they're free.
Google Scholar. Search information from abundant sources.
Write content suited for your audience. Material targeted toward their desires will let them know that you understand their needs and trust that you will also fulfill those needs.
Be transparent. Be real. People appreciate real especially in this day and age when fake seems to be on the rise.
Be emotional, laugh, cry, empower. Feelings connect your content with the reader on a deeper level, building positive connections. People love to share strong feelings with others and you want people to share your content.
Types of Content
Epic content. An example of epic content would be if someone went to your blog for the first time and loved it and kept coming back for more or when the only reason people go to your blog is because of the content, it's epic. Epic content consists of:
  • Lists
  • Answers a question.
  • It's consistent.
  • Expresses an opinion.
  • Is known as the best.
  • It contains call to action.
  • Incorporates visuals.
  • Has tips and tricks.
  • Contains statistics and facts.
  • Long content.
  • Amazingly integrated.
  • Has abundant utensils.
What to do to become an epic writer:
Read all the time.
When you're not reading; write.
Record all your good ideas.
Know everything about your niche.
Viral content. The content becomes viral because it shares and delivers swiftly.
What can we learn from viral victory:
Use visuals they are engaging and easy to understand.
Be interactive. The more interaction your readers have with your content boosts engagement and more people share it.
Inspire emotion. It doesn't matter whether the emotion is good or bad, but how strong the emotion is that will get people to react.
Make it personal. When people perceive you in a deeper way from the content they feel more at ease and bond with you.
Engage a sharing audience if you want more of a chance to go viral.
Support established opinions this will make people more like you're on their side.
Five precepts that go viral:
  1. Social standing. People share because it benefits them socially.
  2. Emotions. Strong emotions get shared. Antagonizing emotions (sadness) do not get shared.
  3. Practicality. Executes action.
  4. Stories. Stories include conflict and problem-solving. We expect triumph or disaster, not pointless events.
  5. Going viral will make us and our brand noticed extensively. We will produce more white hat backlinking. Our community will grow and be more committed. We will gain abundant traffic.
Effective content. This is content that gets shared and attracts associates and potential customers.
Three things to do to generate highly effective content:
  • Write something compelling.
  • Write something engaging and easy to read.
  • Make offers that get responses.
Key points of effective content:
  • Educates. Gives the audience information they hunger for.
  • Has a personality. It's a lot harder to be personal and touch readers with our content than it is to regenerate an old article. In the long run, you will have stronger foundations. If you take the time to be more personal.
  • Has a sweeping headline. Favorable headlines get shares, links, and customers.
  • Considers SEO. Effective content is targeted for people before SEO. Effective content identifies harmony where SEO and the human being meet.
  • Puts the reader first. No matter the type of content we choose the first commandment in any business is to always put the customer first.
Dynamic content. Also referred to as "smart" or "adaptive" marketing. Dynamic content changes often and keeps the reader hooked. The dynamic online experience is more personalized making visitors more engaged.
Dynamic content to add to your site is:
  • Forms
  • Call to action
  • Recommendations
Dynamic content is based on information provided in the past. It uses stored information to add content according to what the user has chosen in the past. A good example of dynamic content is Amazon's recommendations.
Some technologies involved with this:
  • A database is the core of dynamic content managing.
  • Web pages. A dynamic site has easy reading and navigation.
  • Email. This system will be integrated with your database.
  • Using a more personalized approach will make customers feel more complacent and stay on the site longer.
Benefits of database content:
Better profits. Improves efficiency leading to higher profits.
Raise associations. Making better connections.
Increase sales. Saves money by diminishing waste.
Timeless content. Write content that will still be important in the future. Do your homework and find quality original content to write about. People are getting tired of the same information rehashed repeatedly.
How to write timeless content:
  • Go evergreen. Always ask yourself if your subject will still be effective in a few months. Choose topics that will stand the test of time.
  • Focus on meaning. Feelings don't age. We will always have feelings. Add new ideas that will compel the reader while at the same time making yourself stand out from the crowd. Make your content meaningful.
  • Keep your article up to date. Check on it periodically to make sure it's still timeless. New facts are evolving all the time.
  • Remove dates. No one wants to read old articles. I pass on an old article if there's a newer one around.
What to avoid when writing timeless content:
  • References to "today" or "tomorrow".
  • Books.
  • Magazines.
  • Television.
  • Blogs.
  • Movies.
  • Forums.
  • Writing groups.
  • Quotes.
  • History.
  • Travel.
  • Religion.
  • Dreams.
  • Google.
  • Newspapers.
  • Bookmarking sites.
  • Freelancing.
Story writing content. Telling a story draws readers in because it sparks their curiosity and interest. Every brand has a story. Share one that has impacted your life. Share what you've experienced on your journey. Talk about your successes and failures. The story can be about someone else that may have been an inspiration to you.
All of your content should be story writing content.
Six steps in story writing:
  1. Start with a setting: This sets the groundwork for the story. You will create the mood. Your first sentence should immediately peak interest and curiosity. Say something like "Guess what" or "Did you know". Choose something in your life that made an impact. Write as though your audience is with you. Make your audience become part of your story.
  2. Introduce the characters. Remember you are always one of your characters. You may choose to be the narrator just be sure to include yourself.
  3. Build curiosity and suspense that keeps the audience interested. This is where you'll hook the reader.
  4. Reach the climax. This is the most important part of story writing. This is the element of surprise that has kept the reader in suspense. The climax could be an opinion, experiment or research.
  5. Soften the curiosity and suspense. Bring the audience down slowly with facts, data and reference links that verify your findings.
  6. The ending has to be forceful and compelling. It has to initiate discussion or questions. You want the reader to feel that it's worth reading and want to share the story.
What to write stories about:
Why you love your work. Be passionate about yourself. Link this post to your website's biography. Use a meaningful image. It doesn't have to be about work it can be anything really.
How does your brand meet the needs of your audience better than other brands? Give examples.
Measure your product or service's success by using a how-to headline with numbers, such as "How Puppy Chow Sold 95% More Products Using consumer's dogs."
Ask a question like "What issue does your company refuse to address?" Do a search on your question and see where it ranks.
Get Inspired, Stay Inspired
Provide Answers. After you find the answers write a practical how-to guide as if you were talking to a friend. Use keyword tools and search question and answer sites to find questions people have about your industry. Use forums, Yahoo Answers, Quora, Topsy and groups to determine what people are unhappy about and provide a solution. Solutions will give you more authority and your audience will have more confidence in you.
How to use Google keyword search to find answers to what bothers consumers:
Log in and click on search for keyword and ad group ideas.
Type in an extensive search in your niche area under your Product or Service to get ideas.
This will show you problems people are having within your niche to be more specific click on keyword ideas.
Arrange them by average monthly searches.
Keywords that are about three words will tell the best story.
Keywords tools are full of ideas for finding content. Use key phrases like "online marketing mistakes" or "online marketing tips" and make an infographic.
Newsjacking. Take advantage of a good news story. Present the story so it somehow connects to you and take advantage of a popular and interesting news article.
Incorporate current affairs into your field. Write an article on a current affair about something people are searching for and merge it into a relevant area of your site. Use some of the tools I have listed to find a good topic. There is a lot to choose from.
Be controversial. Mix and match theory with disbelief and see what you come up with. Use a content generator and infuse contradictory terms to see what happens.
Writer's groups. The perfect place to improve writing skills. You will get to meet new people in the community. A great way to get inspiration is by listening to someone else's work.
Try Freewriting. Just write, write, write this will free you from inhibitions. Not long ago I did some freewriting on a blog I never use. What a mess it turned out to be although I haven't gone back and read through it. The next day I felt so light there was a heaviness that was gone. I really felt good after that.
Brainstorm ideas. Instead of focusing on everything as you did in Freewriting focus on ideas. There will probably be something interesting you can use to write about.
Success stories. These will promote positive things to generate for you. I usually read inspiring stories about dogs. They can be so moving and bring all that emotion to the surface.
Constructive Proof-Reading Tips
Concentration is essential. Eliminate distractions. Turn off the TV, cell phone and ignore the email.
Print it out. It's easier to see it on paper, read it over it and will be easier to find the mistakes.
Be attentive to homonyms. These are words that sound the same but are spelled differently. There is a distinct difference between effect (result) and affect (to change) or alter (to change) and altar (raised center of worship).
Watch for contractions and apostrophes. Some contractions are easily confused like who's and whose, your and you're, their, there and they're, it's and its. Contractions (two words that form one ex. you're is you are) always have an apostrophe and possessive pronouns (its, whose, your, their) do not.
Check punctuation. Capitalize and use commas and periods. I'm terrible with commas! I really need this lesson.
Read it backward. Break the pattern of blindness when it comes to our own mistakes. Read it back word by word.
Check the numbers. did you mean 2.6 million or.26 million? Sometimes we are off just by a comma or decimal point.
Have a friend proofread. This is my favorite thing to do because then you can have all the more security posting it.
Spend as much time as you need to create a post. There are people that promise you can write 20 blogs a day in 20 minutes. I like to focus on one blog and make sure it has quality and value. I want depth and meaning in my posts.
Add visuals and research data to your posts. A good blog post takes time and the more you get to know your topic, industry and your readers the more you'll learn what they expect and you'll have a clearer insight as to what they want.
Tips for Content Creation
I've added some tips to assist you in making your articles exceptional.
Spend as much time as you need to create one post.
Create awesome titles and sub-titles. The opening line is the most important line in your writing. Give this line a lot of thought. Sub-titles don't have to be boring.
Add an element of surprise. Catch the reader's attention with facts that aren't well-known but are true.
Introduce observations that aren't already apparent. No one wants to read that dog food is for dogs they already know this. Use the information that will increase knowledge. Don't make your reader seem stupid.
Practice rhythm writing. Make long and short sentences. It keeps the words flowing.
Use astonishing statistics. You will call attention to your writing.
Break the rules. The days of being formal and distant in writing are over. Be personal and on the same page as the reader to create an understanding.
Add shock value. Give your readers something to have to stop and think about or laugh about. Instill a little impact to jump-start them and keep them interested.
A remark about a pain point. Pain points will remind the reader that you are human and you have more of a chance of them staying on your page.
Establish a voice. Your voice is authentic and no one else can mimic it in any way. Keep writing and it will evolve.
Incorporate visuals. This breaks up the text and doesn't overwhelm the reader. It makes the article seem to flow.
Get rid of distractions. I know sometimes in our busy worlds we can't rid ourselves of all disturbances, but try to steal away some time for yourself to just breathe and relax.
Add power to your writing. The secret to this is shorter sentences and stronger verbs.
Get your writing seen. I know I'm a little insecure about posting my articles, but I know that content is the foundation for my whole online presence. As I publish I get less and less self-conscience and more and more confidence.
Write more informally. Writing online is different than writing an eBook. It's interactive and you have to be on the same level as your reader.
Use good grammar. Don't think that informal writing means that you sacrifice spelling and grammar errors. Good sentence structure is just as important. People will respect you and have confidence in your more than if you made mistake after mistake. I know when I'm reading an article and it's someone who I expected to be professional and they make errors I lose respect and don't usually finish the article.
Focus on one blog post. Spend all the time you need to get one post right. Don't sacrifice quality for quantity. It's better to have one awesome post than ten weak ones.
Keep the beginning and then end strong. In the beginning, you have to draw them in and this is most important. You need to have a good ending so they want to return to read more.
This is my guide to content creation I hope you find it useful for your next article or post. I tried to make it as helpful as possible.
I know I didn't use a lot of visual I wanted to make this seem like a clear reference guide. Then I looked at some of the pics and thought how much they relate. I had to add them.
I will keep it updated because I plan to use it as a reference also. You can never have too many resources. I tried to cover all the bases. If I've forgotten something or left something out just let me know!
I hope you've enjoyed your time here as much as I enjoyed writing the article.

Content Marketing Tips: What Not To Do in Content Marketing

Content Marketing is the way to start and operate business via new media. It is the strategy to create and deliver valuable and relevant content to the seeking audience and thereby satisfy their needs and derive profitable customer action. It is the means to attract and convert prospects into customers, and customers into repeated buyers. It is the approach to educate people, so that they know, like, trusts you enough to do business with you. Good content marketing makes a person stop read think to behave differently. Good content is a great help to a venture in expanding and growing remarkably. Wherein, the mishap in the content may lead to the regression of the organization. Taking about it, let's have a look at what content should absolutely not be like and what are the pleasing factors of good content!
The DON'Ts of Content Marketing
1. No to Technicality: To convert the customer into a client, it becomes so important to understand his competence and offer what he needs. The technicality in my offer may hamper the customer to fully grasp the sense of what I am trying to make. So it's always a good idea to avoid the technicality in the content.
2. Proofing it back: The errors in the content are what that really distracts the target audience. To shun this situation away, it is better to opt to proofread by someone before publishing it. It is anyway a safer side to check the content and eliminates the errors from it.
3. Failing to use the Keywords: The attempt to write content that doesn't consist of keywords is a straight way failure of content. The content should contain appropriate keywords which help in increasing the credibility of the content. Also, it should be noted the excessive use of keywords is not good and this too leads to failure of the content.
4. The Jargon Attachment: Being a professional, the love I share for jargon is not worthwhile when I write for the layman. One has to step down to the layman language when it comes to writing the content for customers. This helps the customer have a better understanding of products and services.
5. The Lettering Effect: The effect that my letters leave on the customers is enormous. The words, font, font size and way of writing make my customers stick to my content. Usage of good font and font size makes the reading experience of the customer great and my business increased.
6. Out of Place Highlights: A good content has the highlights of it in the form of bold, italics, underlined, etc. But, when the content contains out of the place highlights, say, many in number, not at the right position and lack of discrimination in highlights and ongoing content, reduces its credibility. And doesn't provide a handful of experience to the customer.
7. Undersized Text: While it's good to be very specific and precise in writing the content, it's not good to keep the text too small. The average size, i.e. not too big and not too small, provide a useful guide to the customer.
8. Poor Sub-headers: Sub-headings is a good ingredient of good content if used creatively. Nowadays, this is not used in the correct manner and which leads to poor content overall.
9. Let the readers have an opinion: Adding a conclusion to the content and making the readers believe in that conclusion is one big mistake nowadays. Let the readers form their own opinion. For you, the good idea is to leave your page with the link like the comment below, Buy the product, like us, etc.
10. The Spell Game: One mistake in one spelling ruins the entire content. Be very cautious about the spelling else you might land up in the situation that of Dan Quayle- "The Misspelled Potato".
After the Don'ts, the Do's comes in the way, let's have a look at it.
1. Focus on Headings: Eighty percent of people read only the headings and make an attempt to grasp from it that what content must have contained. Only the remaining read the full text. Know that regardless of how good your content is, most people will scan it quickly, hunting for what they want. Make the hunting easy with great headlines.
2. The beginning says it all: Conclude all the desired information in the beginning of the text. In case people stop reading somewhere, they can still get the gist of it. Keep your content precise and clear and provide maximum information in minimum words. Also, keep in mind to use understandable language.
3. Avoid Confusion: One confused mind can confuse all others. To avoid this embarrassing situation, it is important to be clear. The thoughts, words, and phrases used should be in sync. Else it will leave the reader unsatisfied.
4. Redundant Sentences: The repetition of sentences in a different language is a major avoidable factor. This forces the reader to switch to some other page.
5. The phrasing of Sentences: The sentences in the content are what it is all about. They have to be phrased with excellent grammar and should be in an active voice. This leaves a good impact on the reader.
6. Striking: Content with amusing elements and interesting facts, strike and excite the reader. The reading experience becomes enjoyable and easy.
7. Research: Before writing the content, it is always a good idea to research it and make you aware of what has existed in the past. The elements of history help in creating a new history.
8. Have your own approach: Once you have researched, take a few minute's time and fame in mind your own approach and a different perspective. This helps in creating newness in your content and helps you explore your creativity.
9. Know the Reader: Knowing and understanding the mind of the reader is one of the best tactics to make them stick with your thoughts and indeed writings. Be the reader's writer.
10. Array the story: Arrange the story according to the significance of the content. The beginning provides a good scheme for the reader. And good feedback to the writer.
